Tikal the Echidna
Tikal is a female echidna and is part of the Echidna tribe on the Floating Island. Her first appearance was in Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast in 1999, and is 14 years old. Tikal is a peace-loving echidna who's pure of heart, and hates violence and war. She also loves the cute little creatures called, Chao and would do anything to protect them. Tikal is the daughter of Pachacamac, the Cheif of the echidna tribe on Angel Island, the same tribe as Knuckles the Echidna. Tikal follows her heart, and is strongly against her father's power-hungry actions.
Tikal sometimes spent her time near the Master Emerald alter near the echidna tribe, and likes to enjoy her time with Chao. She was introduced to the guardian of the Chao, Chaos. Though, Pachacamac grew mad of power, and planned to invade other countries. He gathered his men to obtain the Chaos Emerald and Master Emeralds to use as his power. Tikal tried her best to protect the emeralds, and mostly the Chao, but was no match for the army of echidna's storming her way. Chaos became filled with anger, and killed Pachacamac along with his troops. Looking at the Master Emerald, Tikal remembered the ancient poem about Chaos. Realising what the poem meant, she used it to seal herself and Chaos in the Master Emerald.
Tikal is good at treasure hunting, and has the ability to climb, punch, and Drill claw (same as Knuckle's abilities). These were shown in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle in 2 Player mode. Though, her ability to sense the Master Emerald (like Knuckles) isn't as strong as Knuckles, and can only sense them from a closer distance. She also helps Sonic and his friends, and guide's them as a flash of light.
