Metal Sonic

Metal Sonic's first appearance and debut was in Sonic the Hedgehog CD. He's an evil metalic copy of Sonic the Hedgehog controlled and created by Dr. Eggman. In Sonic CD, he was sent back in time to change the past so that Eggman could rule the future. He also kidnaps Amy Rose in the game. In a part of the game, Sonic is forced to race against Metal Sonic to rescue Amy. Metal Sonic also was involved in games such as Knuckles' Chaotix, Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic R, and many more. Not only games, but he's also been involved as a main character in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie.

In Metal Sonic's early stages, Metal Sonic appears to be a loyal robot to Dr. Eggman. However, in Sonic Heroes in the Last Story it is shown that he has got an ittellect of his own. Metal Sonic is aggressive, dominatating, ruthless and mad for power. He betrayed Dr. Eggman (like many of Eggman's other robots surprisingly) to take over the world himself. Metal Sonic is known as one of the truly evil Sonic characters in the series to many of Sonic fans. Metal Sonic's main goal is to defeat Sonic the Hedgehog, and is determined to do so, though has failed in his attempts.

Metal Sonic's engines enable him to hover slightly above the ground while moving at higher speeds. In Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Metal Sonic can move much more faster than both Sonic and Shadow and is even harder to slow down due to poor braking ability. As Sonic's copy, he possesses many of Sonic's abilities such as the Homing Attack and can perform higher jumps than Sonic, though he cannot perform the spin-dash. He does possess a defense system that protects him from attacks by his opponents. This is called the "Black Shield". In Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic also has the ability to copy data from other characters, (which often results in enabling him to use their abilities) and can shape shift.

Metal Sonic is not the only metalic copy of Sonic the Hedgehog. Others are Silver Sonic and Mecha Sonic. But, Metal Sonic is the main Metalic version of Sonic, and is often now used in Sonic Games.

Metal Sonic could possible believe that he is infact the true Sonic, and Sonic is his copy. This possibility is raised after in Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic says "I am the Ultimate Overlord, Metal Sonic! I am the REAL Sonic!". But however he also says "I was created for the sole purpose of destroying you". This causes confusion as to wether or not he actually believes he's the real Sonic or not.
