Gamma is a powerful robot that uses a small bird inside to power him. Although he was built to follow Dr. Eggman's orders, and to be loyal to him, Gamma later parts from his loyalty to Eggman after seeing one of his 'brothers' in scraps. Gamma turns against his maker's orders, releasing Amy Rose from captivity, and devoting his breif existence to freeing his robotic brothers and the animals inside. In doing so, he destroys the other E-series robots, freeing them from Eggman. Lastly he frees the newly rebuilt E-101 which releases a bird creature. This leaves Gamma damaged after battle. The wound kills him off, freeing the last small animal which was part of a family of 2 other birds. One in which Amy was protecting throughout the game.
